Happy Halloween from the Farm!

(Click on any picture to see it enlarged)

These are some exciting photos of us at the Bear Hill Farm CSA annual end-of-season thank you cookout.

Bear Hill Farm is a family run organic vegetable and flower farm in Northern Middlesex county.

Every year, our family splits a share of the farm proceeds with some friends of ours, as part of the USDA's Community

Sponsored Agriculture Program.  Our payment helps the farmers (Mike and Annie) pay for seed, fertilizer, and other needs

and in return we get to share in the bounty of the farm, which varies from year to year.

The kids have learned a lot about farms from our participation in the CSA, and they have enjoyed feeding

compost matter to the goats and chickens, and helping pull weeds, and with cleanup days.

You'll notice in a few of the night pictures there are these BIG translucent circles.  To date, we do NOT

know what they are or why they appeared in the pictures.  It's a rather spooky mystery we'd like solved!

If you do know, or have heard of such phenomena, please let us know.

Libby Immediately starts hammering at a pumpkin Libby does NOT like to receive advice from 12 year olds Andrew was very...uh...er... "picky" today Piggies! More Piggies... And more piggies... Hunter wanted a picture of piggy's butt.  I concurred
Lamb or Sheep?  You decide.  We couldn't. This goat LOVED me for some reason She was playing coy with me here But came RIGHT back for a nice close up for me These chickens are always very hostile towards me for some reason.  Could be my KFC hat...I'm not sure I liked the pumpkins in this, but that poor kid's face got all whited out.  Wah! I loved this one...I caught a completely spontaneous smooch.

SMOOCH!

It was getting dark, so we set out some pumpkins... And some more... And some more Night fell and we lit them ALL I had some trouble with blur here for some reason The one with virtually no light coming from it was ours This was a cute one with Emma DaSilva.  She wouldn't smile though
Much better This one pixelated a bit for some reason At the end of the day, a BONFIRE There were no vanities Wanted a flash picture of the crowd I really liked these I wanted to capture just the top of the flames

The kids were watching the sparks come off the fire and into the sky. And they were all SCREAMING!  It was kinda tribal, but very cool. Andrew and I go to get a Marshmallow... And disappear into the night
