Halloween is absolutely my FAVORITE
holiday of the year! We really went all out this year, for whatever
reason, and traveled the better part of the state to find various indoor/outdoor
decorations for the big event. I'm particularly proud of the landscaping
we had done this year, the house just looks SO awesome!! I played with
some additional camera features for this year's pictures too. I did some
photo stitching to get a photo with a very large horizontal aspect and used the
movie feature to put together a tiny AVI file.
This year, Libby stayed home and handed
out the candies while I took the kids out trick or treating, which was no small
feat for me. My joints are all pretty much locked up now so I managed the
nearby houses with my cane, but had to use the car for the remainder of the
journey.
Hunter heard a
rumour of kidnappers from GOD only knows where, so he was pretty much
terrified to go near ANY doorways without me 3 feet away. Andrew was in
fine form, disavowing any fear whatsoever (despite visibly shaking at a live
"haunted house" display).
All in all, everything went swimmingly
and we all had a super good time. Sorry I didn't get more pictures from
the observation of All Hollow's Eve...but we were a wee bit busy at the time.
Anyway, here's what we got.
ENJOY!
So first, the kitchen. So
sparce...this was Day 1 and the decorations grew from there. Nice
tablecloth, with Coin Robot, a wax hand and a wax skull. Cool!
BLING was absolutely a necessity this year. No bling?
No Halloween!!! So...see my bling and worship it...you know you want
to.
Outside we begin. Under the lamp post is missing a
lighted signs by two hands that came up out of the ground.
That was added AFTER we went on our final hunt for
deco...on the Friday before nevertheless.
Again, I'm so sorry for only the day pictures. At
night, there were strobe lights and mood lights EVERYWHERE!
All the pumpkins were blinky and all of the characters at
the door lit up and screamed like crazy.
This was the coup de grace. The front door was lit
by an eerie green light that made that skeleton come alive and be seen from
2 streets away.
This was just before the sun went down...NO kids you
notice.. even the early birds were too frightened to ring our doorbell once
I fired up the music.
Hunter was WAY more than excited about the prospect of
CANDY! Sadly, he would be disappointed... it was a night of true
terror... peanuts EVERYWHERE! But we managed.
When I got home with the kids from Trick or Treating, THIS
is how I found Libs and the cats. Wiped out. We all were.
What a GREAT Halloween!!
Please pardon the tinyness of this
picture...but it's worth the wait. When you click on it, you get a
HUGE panoramic view of the house using a new Photostitch package I'm using.
Neat! Don't mind the install window you get, please run it...I wrote
it so there's no nasties in it. ENJOY!
Here's the movie functionality I
told you about. It's not Hollywood, but it sure is cool! Just
press the play button up above there and have FUN!!
