More Flooding

(Click on any picture to see it enlarged)

It's 5/15/06.  We just got back from driving as close as we could to the Merrimack River.  We had to walk up the Rourke Bridge, which is closed now, to take most of these pictures.  We caught some more from the side streets near the river on the way back.  It's just SO bad.

Over there is the new housing development, and the boat house...which is now a boat.   There's the river walk...which is now a river.   Panoramic view of the Merrimack River...it's just f'ing HUGE NOW!!

There's Pawtucket Boulevard...or what's left of it.   That's the building they used to use for Fire Department exercises.   On the right hand side, just above the yellow roof, you can see a little orange dot.  That's all that's left of the Dunkin' Donuts over there.  It's completely under water now.

Used Digital Zoom for this...didn't come out too well.  More new houses under water.   This is over near the soccer fields on Edwards street.  The owner jealously guarded his 1970s behemoth vehicle with a huge cover...apparently he needed it hermitically sealed instead.  At least all his boats are ok...and soon to be in use.  LOL.   This is "The Bike Guy" house.  He always has bikes outside for sale.  His garage is actually floating away here.

This is the Bike Guy's side yard.   Bike Guy's back yard.   Street leading to Bike Guy's house...now closed.
